Yes, the Thai teacher did let me know that the drill would be happening, and I appreciated that. However, she did not know when the drill had actually started or when it had ended, so during the drill it was still quite confusing for me, her and the students.

My main thought is about how the system would work in a real emergency. In that situation, I would not want to depend on another teacher being available, understanding exactly what was happening, and then being able to find me and communicate the information.

I was thinking it might be useful to treat the communication during a drill as closely as possible to a real situation. For example, a LINE alert to all teachers and staff when the emergency begins, followed by another message when the all-clear is given. Even if the message is only in Thai, I can quickly translate it.
